Tournament week at the Portugal Invitational gathered momentum on Tuesday evening as players, families and tournament guests came together for the official Pro-Am Party at the Victoria Golf Resort & Spa in Vilamoura.
The evening provided an opportunity to enjoy Portuguese hospitality and cultural experiences away from the course ahead of two days of Pro-Am action at The Els Club Vilamoura.
Ernie Els, tournament host and competitor this week at the course that bears his name, was among those in attendance, alongside more than 50 PGA TOUR Champions players.
The evening also brought together representatives from across the organisations behind the inaugural Portugal Invitational, including John Calvão, Co-Founder of Arrow Global and Head of Real Estate and Hospitality; Conceição Machado, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Portugal; Miller Brady, President of PGA TOUR Champions; and Todd Rhinehart, Executive Director of the Portugal Invitational.
With players and guests now taking to The Els Club Vilamoura and the opening Pro-Am round completed on Wednesday, attention continues to build towards Friday, when the first competitive round of the inaugural Portugal Invitational gets under way.
The tournament will bring together a 78-player field for three rounds of competition from July 31 to August 2, marking the first PGA TOUR Champions event to be staged in Portugal.
